Denim Blù is a Toronto-based recording artist, songwriter, and music producer whose identity and music reflect the cultural mosaic that makes Toronto's music so universally-appealing. He's a Chinese-born queer artist whose inspiration is borne out of rebellion. “I’m not supposed to be Chinese and making pop music; I’m not supposed to be gay; I’m not supposed to emote sex. Well, I do,” says Denim Blù, “My songwriting is inspired by the greatest songwriters like Elton John and Alicia Keys, while my sound is influenced by pop artists like Childish Gambino and The Weeknd”. Denim Blù’s music training and influences span three continents having studied and composed in China, the UK, and Toronto. The product of his music is pure pop fantasy with emotional intrigue, drawing inspirations from pop, rock, electronica, R&B, and jazz, all while being unapologetically queer. His music delivers new-age pop with a story to tell.

Denim Blù's debut EP, Blue (2021), captures youthful love, volatile love, and queer love, and takes the listener on a journey from the exuberance and magic of falling in love, to deep and dark places of lament, to coming to terms with love lost. Blù’s synthesis is a celebration of Toronto's cultural diversity as the EP, its collaborative artists, songwriting, and production are queer and ethnically-diverse, adding to the international and progressive flare that makes Toronto one of the hottest scenes in the music industry today.
